Restaurant Review :- Imperial Treasure Noodle and Congee House, Orchard Ion, Singapore

The Imperial Treasure Noodle and Congee House is located in Ion Orchard.

We had to queue for 20 minutes before getting a table which gave us high hopes, as it is extremely popular.

Once we were shown to our table however we were dissappointed as the small tables are very close together and it gives the impression that they pack people in to this restaurant.

We ordered in the busy restaurant and the waiting staff were very polite and agreeable. It appears to be managed well.

The first dish we selected from the the tacky Paper Menu was 'Braised Rice with Sliced Fish and BeanCurd'. The fish was tasty and I would say the Beancurd was average - this diah met expectations but nothing beyond that.
The next dish we opted for was 'Spicy Eggplant with Pork'. The Eggplant or Aubergine  was succulent though there did not seem enough of it. Very good dish.
Next choice was the Sauteed Beef and Tomato with Rice. This was the pick of the crop. In fact it was one of the best Tomato dishes I have ever had in a Chinese Restaurant. The  Beef was of good quality and the Tomato was addictive it was so tasty.

Forty Seven dollars was pricy for those three dishes but I suppose this is due to the location of the restaurant.
I would only give this restaurant three out of five. This is due to the small tables and lack of space and the cost of the food.

However the Sauteed Beef and Tomato with Rice is 'Amazing'. The visit was worth it for that.

Update (23rd October 2011) :-

We decided to return as it was so delicious last time we visited :-

The standard of food and service is still excellent.

We had tried a new dish we hadn't tried before :-

It was 'Pork Rib Hor Fun' . It was fine but had too many bones. The sauce and standard of meat was delicious though.
