Restaurant Review :- Crystal Jade, Suntec City Mall, Singapore

We ventured forth to another common restaurant in Singapore called Crystal Jade. This branch was at Suntec City Mall.  



There was a special offer on for Mid Autumn Festival which meant you could pay 30 dollars excluding Taxes for 2 dishes and get one for $1 excluding Taxes.
The dish for a dollar was Eggplant with Minced Pork - One of my favourites when coooked well. We had to try it and see the results :)

The restuarant was quite quiet when we arrived. There was one noisy table and a few couples and small family units. We checked out the Menu though we knew what we would order. 

The Stewed Duck Casserole tasty slightly dry on first taste but the duck meat deeper in the Casserole was more mixed in the gravy and was lovelier. It was slightly salty but was on the whole very satisfying.



Then the fish arrived and as most Chinese dishes it was bony - but that was okay - easy to remove the bones. The full name was 'Cordycep Flower and Black Fungus'. It was nicer than the name sounds - as the fish was lovely. I naturally left the fish's head - but it was decorative and authentic.  

The eggplant dish was a little too oily - which was dissapointing - and it spoiled the taste I would say - so I would not recommend this dish to you.

The bill came and it was more than we expected to pay given the deal promotion so this was disappointing. For this meal I would give the promotion 7 out of ten - however if the promotion was not on I would only give the restaurant five out of ten. The fish and duck were very nice but the eggplant was not up to standard.
